Success Story: Jerry J.

Jerry J. was admitted to Fountainview for rehabilitation following a spinal procedure. Prior to his hospitalization Jerry was independent with all of his self-care and mobility. Jerry states that he enjoyed wood working as his hobby and he was also great at doing tricks with the Yoyo. Upon his arrival, Jerry was having pain and difficulty walking, along with muscle weakness and loss of strength. Jerry was evaluated by physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy and a personalized plan of care was established to help Jerry recover from his surgery and return to his prior level of function. Jerry received therapy five days a week and was very dedicated to getting better. He worked diligently and continued to challenge himself during his therapy sessions. Jerry even stated that, because of therapy, he is able to do things that he did not think he could do before. Jerry is now modified independent with all of his self-care and mobility.
